Wishes to friends & family for 2012!

The 2011 year was undoubtedly difficult. But what about the new year 2012?

What a year 2011 has been!
On the personal level, I ascended to the Board of Directors of PHILPA (Greece’s oldest Classic Car Club), hence my hobby about old cars is taking a new and deeper direction; in May/June together with two other PHILPA colleagues we traveled to Romania as a Judges for their “Concurs De Eleganta Romania 2011“. Then Ivi & I flew across the Atlantic to the USA (visiting both East and West coasts), for a mini Lake Forest College re-union of the Class of ’73 in Cape Cod; reconnected with many good old friends and relatives, overall a most rewarding and memorable experience!

Back to Greece for the summer, spending a good and windy month of August in our island home in Kea, then in September venturing with Ivi as co-pilot to the “40th PHILPA International Rally” driving through lovely Northern Greece scenic roads, then co-organizing the “PHILPA Concours d’Elegance” in October and entering in yet another “Winter Rally” in November. I have increased my investing in more cars during this year (acquiring a 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SL, a 1991 Daimler Double Six, and a 1962 VW Beetle); the year’s end highlight being the move into a new building for our Club.

All along we have actively supported the NGO “The Smile of a Child” through fund-raising campaigns, and the cultural “Friends of Kea Island Society” with a number of events and causes. Both Ivi and I have remained healthy but our politics and economy cum “Greek Statistics” have dangerously deteriorated  to mere Junk, causing us concern for the coming year.
So here are our best wishes despite it all…

May the New Year 2012 bring health and happiness to you and your loved ones! May all your dreams and aspirations come true!
